Extreme Networks appoints Nelson as director, channel sales

Extreme Networks has appointed Nelson Soon as director, channel sales, Asia Pacific and Japan.

Based in Singapore, Soon will work closely with Extreme's senior management to prioritize markets, resources, and secure new partners. He will also design business models to optimize the company's existing channels base.

Soon brings with him over a decade of experience in the technology and telecom sector. Gary Newbold, senior VP, Asia Pacific and Japan, Extreme Networks, said, "Soon has a flair for IT implementation and channels management. We are very excited to have him on board. I am confident that his enthusiasm backed by his experience will strengthen our relationships with the channel partners in this region".

Prior to Extreme Networks, Soon worked with Ixia as the Head of Sales for ANZ, Asean and Taiwan for five years, managing regional sales, channels strategy, and business development. He also served Agilent Technologies for seven years as the Channels Partner Manager.
