Ahmedabad-based
Sai Infosystems is one of the few solution providers in the state. Based out of
Ahmedabad, it has around 350 qualified professionals working at almost 13
states. And it has managed to grow its business by concentrating largely on the
government segment. Today this vertical contributes 70% of its revenues, with
the rest being chipped in by the SOHO segment. The company is now targeting Rs
65 crore in revenues in 2004-05.

The company has mastered the art of doing business with the government. And
also they now have loyalists in this vertical who buy only from them. And Sai
has even hit upon the idea of using financial institutions to help it manage
credit better.

Besides being a complete solution provider, SIS also manufactures PCs,
servers, laptops, UPS and routers under the brand name 'Sunny'. Named after
Sunil's son, these products are certified by respective vendors whose
components are used.

Sai has established its own manufacturing facilities at Silvasa, which is ISO
9001:2000 and ISO-14001 certified. The most important part of this
infrastructure is the Product Certification Lab, equipped with 15 workstations,
five servers and four qualified hardware engineers.

Sai also has 13 regional support centers and branch offices in Jaipur,
Silvasa and Parwanoo. All these offices are equipped with digital connectivity
and latest communication facilities.

With such an infrastructure in place, Sai shares excellent relationship with
principal vendors like Microsoft, Intel, HP, IBM, Acer, Sun, Cisco, D-Link,
Epson, SCO, Oracle, Zyxel, MRO-Tek, Multi-tech, LG, Samsung, Tata Liebert, APC,
Sharp, AMP, Avaya, Siemens and Apara.

Sai knows that merely selling hardware does not a complete solution provider
make and therefore ventured into software development. Since a majority of its
customers were from the telecom segment, it developed software solutions useful
for telcos. It has developed a call-center application that can be deployed in
any environment.

Sai's extensive experience of dealing with telecom service providers helped
them understand the Management Information System requirements of telecom
service provider as well and it built a telecom specific MIS.

Today, it is capable of providing turnkey solutions to any industry vertical.
During the last 12 years, it has rendered services to BSNL and other telcos in
number of ways. It recently installed BSNL's biggest network in Gujarat with
1,000 PCs spread across 120 cities.
