Mumbai-based Omnitech InfoSolutions, a leading provider of Business
Availability solutions has been presented the Silver award in the 'Fastest
Growing SP' category, during the recently concluded DQ Channels SP Summit held
in Bangkok. The company mainly comprises three services-Infrastructure
Management (IMS), Application Management (AMS) and Performance Management (PMS)
as well as Business Continuity solutions which include Disaster Recovery (DR)
and managed services. The key verticals for Omnitech include BFSI,
manufacturing, IT/ITeS, telecom and retail. In 2008, Omnitech established
OmniCenter, the country's first managed DR center comprising 20,000 sqft of
workspace and a gigabit network exceeding 323 Wi-Fi enabled workstations.
While the rest of the industry was reeling under economic downturn, Omnitech
was growing rapidly. With a CAGR of 25 percent over the last three years,
Omnitech has projected revenues of Rs 205 crore for the current fiscal. Atul
Hemani, MD, Omnitech InfoSolutions believes that the company was able to weather
the slowdown storm because of its deep focus on its areas of expertise. "We are
probably one of the few specialized solution providers of Business Availability
and Business Continuity. Instead of focusing on verticals, we put efforts for
being specialized in these domains. We do not operate on a silo-based approach.
Instead, we take a holistic approach to the business need and accordingly match
our IT outsourcing solutions to address the business need from a customer's
perspective," added Hemani. According to Hemani, CIOs are more interested in how
the business need can be met versus what the technology can do. "CIOs give top
priority to the issues like availability and continuity of the business rank.
And Omnitech can address these issues," said Hemani.

The ability to offer packaged solutions instead of a piecemeal approach plus
the committed service to customers are some of the key strengths of Omnitech.
The delivery of infrastructure-based services for the company follows a
non-linear model, which provides tremendous benefits to a customer. "This is
well enabled by our automation tools like the in-house OmniMonitor, OmniAudit,
OmniManageIT as well as third-party tools from Kaseya, Enable etc," stated
Hemani.
Manpower plays a crucial role in the rapid growth rate of an organization.
While in 2007, the total number of Omnitech employees was 325, now it is around
800. The company is capable of supporting over a thousand locations across the
country and it has a strong support base to bank on. "We empower our employees
through compulsory training sessions. We have a professionally managed learning
and development program in place which helps us stay abreast of the latest
trends in our business," said Hemani.
Omnitech motivates its employees through monetary as well as non-monetary
means. While monetary incentives include salary bonuses and ESOPs, non-monetary
incentives comprise of appreciation from top management, gift vouchers, family
tours and even gifting of cars and bikes for exceptional performance.
Omnitech bagged some major deals last year, which has helped contribute to
their top and bottomlines. With locations both domestic and abroad, the company
is targeting a global audience. "Our biggest deal abroad was worth 3.5 million
and was an infrastructure management services project. In India, the biggest
deal we bagged was worth Rs 15 crore and was related to PLM. This was a
greenfield project involving a major financial services institution wherein they
had a product roll out across their branches in the country," signed off Hemani.
