Fonocom receives good response

The three day IT expo, IT Kumbh - A New Era of Fonocom, organized by MPIT&TA
in Indore from Feb 1-3 received an overwhelming response from customers from
across the town. event was inaugurated by IT the minister of state Vijay Vargiya.

"We have got an excellent response over the tree days and the new look
of the expo was very much appreciated by the visitors," commented Manish
Goyal, President, MPIT&TA.

Along with an increased footfall due to changed look of the expo, channel
partners also said that there was an increased level of interest among the
visitors about technology, specifically for mobile products. Visitors showed
keen interest in buying mid range laptops rather than desktops and dealers faced
large enquiries about the upcoming mobility products. One product for which the
visitors made large number of enquiries was PC and laptop by Apple. Security and
wireless cameras was also very much in demand.

"There was lot of difference not only in the look of the expo but also
the attitude and awareness level of the visitors. They were eager to know about
the latest technology and products and were more interested in buying products
that allow mobility. It was a good platform for the customers to know about the
latest products and for the partners to display their stock. Within these three
days dealers have witnessed good increase in their sale in comparison to their
normal business routine. Vendors also got good branding of their products,"
commented Goyal.

The stall that grabbed attention of the visitors was of "Meri Dhun"
where one could change the lyrics of any song and set its as their caller tune
of their cell phones. Another attraction at the expo was the IT quiz. Vendors
participating in the expo had sponsored gifts for visitors that was declared
after every one hour and was based on lucky draw.

Observing the interest of the people in technology, the association is
planning to conduct seminars on IT products, technology, training and security
solution in the expo next year.

The vendors who participated in the expo were Xerox, Apple, LG, Reliance
Mobile, Acer, Lenovo, HCL, Canon and Toshiba. The customer footfall in the expo
this year was around 1.5 lakh.
