Foxconn appoints Supertron as authorized disti

Foxconn Middle East, Africa and India branch office announced a new
distributor for India territory. Starting this month Supertron Electronics will
be responsible for distribution of all Foxconn branded products like
motherboards, chassis, VGA cards, coolers, bare-bone systems in India territory
as the official and authorized distributor.

Foxconn is the registered trade name of Hon Hai Precision Industry Company,
the provider of joint-design, joint-development, manufacturing, assembly and
after-sales services to global computer, communication and consumer-electronics
('3C') companies. Supertron Electronics is a Kolkata-based distribution company
and supplier of IT and telecom products in India. Currently, the company has 20
branch offices across the country.

Announcing the new distribution tie up, David Shih, MD of Foxconn Middle
East, Africa and Indian Office said, "India is an important emerging market
with about six million PCs sold yearly. The Middle East office of Foxconn has a
good understanding of today's Indian market. We believe that Supertron as
distributor for India territory will be able to, along with our strong support
and experience, build-up proper position for Foxconn branded products."

He expects that serving India territory from Dubai will tremendously decrease
time of delivery of goods and resellers in India will benefit from quick
operations and it will help Foxconn gain 10 percent to 12 percent market share
and later on grow into becoming the top three vendor in the marketplace for PC
components.

One of the first Foxconn products to be launched in India will be what the
company termed as a 'pure over-clocking' motherboard - MARS. With early BIOS
edition and standard air-cooling, MARS has posted FSB frequencies of 575MHz.
