Gigabyte crosses one million mark

Celebrating the sale of one million motherboards Gigabyte India recently
organized a three-day channel meet in Goa. It was time for double celebration as
Gigabyte India also completed two years in the Indian market.

Addressing the media at the press briefing, Henry Kao, VP, Worldwide Sales
and Marketing, Gigabyte announced that the company would be targeting the sale
of three million motherboards in 2008. According to Kao, "In emerging
markets like India the desktop PC market is growing steadily. Whereas in
developed nations the laptop market is surging. After dealing in various
emerging and developing markets, we have observed that the desktop pc market is
going good in these regions."

Speaking at the meet, Pramod Vyas, MD, Gigabyte India said, "Channel
meets are the best time to strengthen up the relations with partners. The
three-day meet encourages interaction with partners from all over the country
under one roof. It enables us to discuss issues directly and openly with
them."

K.R Naik, CMD of D-Link India present at the occasion underlined the fact
that the meet was the best platform to get direct feedback about the market and
the end-users. He pointed out that the end-user was increasingly getting tech-savy
with a clear knowledge of his needs and the role of the channel was significant
in the trading of IT goods.

The three-day channel meet saw participation of 100 partners from all over
the country. The representative of national distributors of Redington India,
Ingram Micro were also present at the meet.
