Gigabyte enters server business in India

Gigabyte Technology India is all set to foray into the server market and has
introduced a range of server mainboards and barebones for the Indian market. It
has server products on Intel and AMD platforms ranging from entry-level to
mid-end servers.

Gigabyte servers are compatible on all the leading operating systems and are
tested to work on majority platforms/applications. They come bundled with the
server management tools. These offer IPMI 1.5 compliant firmware, ICMB and IPMB
support, system health monitoring with platform event filtering and management.
Systems administrators can also manage and configure the servers remotely.

Amod Phadke, GM—Servers, Thin Client and Laptops Sales, Gigabyte Technology
India said, "We are known worldwide as technology leaders for desktop and
server motherboards. In India, we have already successfully launched desktop
motherboards and are confident of replicating this success in server
motherboard, barebone and storage server."

Gigabyte's range includes rack mount machines, server and workstation
mainboards, storage arrays and storage servers. It hopes to capture over 5%
market share in its first year of business in India.
