Gigabyte unveils motherboard based on Intel 915P chipset

Digi Giga Systems Ltd has launched new Gigabyte PX series motherboard GA-8I915P Duo Pro based on Intel 915P chipset. Featuring the LGA 775 Intel Pentium 4 processor with Hyper-Threading Technology, GA-8I915P Duo Pro supports both DDR & DDR2 main memory.

According to the press release, the GA-8I915P Duo Pro provides a broad range of peripheral connections by offering IEEE 1394a and USB 2.0 for high-speed data transfer, and high speed Serial ATA for connection of storage devices. 

The GA-8I915P Duo Pro also offers multimedia advancements through PCI-Express for outstanding graphics output, doubling that of the current AGP8X interface. Gigabit LAN provides LAN connection at a blazing fast network connection speed of up to 1,000 Mbps, for improved networking. Supporting RAID (0, 1, 0+1), JBOD function and ATA133 interface, GigaRAID Controller delivers complete solution for storage interface to increase fault tolerance, improve data access
performance and provides additional interface for more IDE devices.

The motherboard also features Gigabyte Shieldware, which includes eight unique software feature elements focused on making computing both simple and straightforward. The GA-8I915P Duo Pro offer home theater-quality sound with the PC using Intel High Definition Audio for enhanced multi-channel audio, improved voice and communication input, and multi-streaming capability.

It also features DualBIOS, which prevents BIOS from virus attacks or firmware damage and provides a double security to the system that assures the PC stability.
