HARTRON passes tender for 6500 PCs

Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation (HARTRON) has recently
passed a tender for 65,000 personal computers in which HCL, HP and Acer have
been invited to participate. "This is one of the biggest tender in the
country. For any IT developments HARTRON gets the products directly from the
vendors and not through any channel because we have some price negotiation with
them in the market," said Roshan Lal, AGM-Marketing, HARTRON.

The project is directed towards installing computers in schools and colleges
of Haryana with an objective to computerize the education sector in the state.

When contacted to comment on the status of tender, HP and HCL refused to
comment. Acer clarified that they are working for the project but could not give
the exact status.
