HCL Infinet to distribute Konica Minolta printers

Leveraging on its national distribution strength — HCL Infinet has tied up
with Konica Minolta to initiate the latter's foray into the Indian market. As
a result of this agreement, HCL would be marketing and distributing Konica
Minolta's laser color printers. "We are quite excited to see the Indian
market growing rapidly.

At present, the color laser market is pegged at around 18%. This has a huge
potential as the laser printer market is growing at 25% and we are poised to
capture a significant share of the market with our range of products,"
informed, Edward Ong, Regional General Manager, South East Asia, and Konica
Minolta Solutions.

With players like Canon and HP already trying hard to entrench firmly in this
space, it's a long road ahead for a new entrant like Konica Minolta. Speaking
about HCL's exclusive distribution tie up with Konica Minolta, V Rajendren,
GM, Marketing, HCL Infinet, said that providing complete end-to-end solutions
for its end customers would differentiate the company from its competitors.
"We are positioning ourselves as a one stop shop for all kind of
documentation requirements. This would be a big differentiator for us in the
long run," he added.

In its bid to penetrate in the Indian market, Konica Minolta has rolled out
eight products for the Indian market - including Magicolor 2400, Magicolor
5430DL and mono laser printers. All these products would be available within a
price range of Rs 12,000 to Rs two lakh.

HCL InfiNet will market these printers through its 150-dealer strong direct
sales network.
