Follow UsMaking its foray into the home entertainment segment, HCL Infosystems has partnered with Microsoft and Intel to introduce Beanstalk Neo, a device offering TV, DVD, MP3 player, radio, gaming and Internet tools at a single go.
"We have developed this device with the Microsoft Windows XP Media center operating system and Intel´s hyper threading technology. We will leverage our existing channel network to sell it across the country," informs HCL Infosystems' Chairman and CEO, Ajay
Chowdhry.
The new combo device, priced at Rs 99,990, comes with a 17-inch flat LCD display system and an integrated digital entertainment system, a MP3/CD player with a surround system, live radio and television. It also has wireless and broadband ready Internet connectivity.
"For the first six months, we are aim to sell 5,000 to 10,000 devices. Initially, we would be going to A-class cities and then slowly, we would be moving down to the B- and C-class cities," Ajay adds.
