Hitachi Data Systems extends OEM agreement with Commvault

CommVault announced that it has added the Simpana 7.0 software suite of
products to its OEM agreement with Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) Corporation.
Available immediately as the new Hitachi Data Protection Suite 7.0 powered by
CommVault, this software is touted as a solution designed to improve the
performance, availability and security of enterprise customers' data storage
assets, while reducing storage complexity, administrative overhead and operating
costs. This marks an extension to the existing worldwide OEM agreement the
companies forged in March 2005.

Commenting on the announcement, John Mansfield, senior VP, Global Solutions
Strategy and Development, HDS said, "Building on the worldwide success of
our partnership with CommVault, we are delivering an integrated solution that
represents the combined synergies of Hitachi's storage systems and CommVault's
data protection software. The 7.0 enables enterprise customers to securely

environments."

The solution offers smart client back-up, enterprise-wide search and
discovery, single instance store (SIS), high-performance content indexing, data
classification, expanded security and encryption features. It enables customers
to gain better visibility across their entire storage environment, including
backup, archive and online data assets, which improves storage utilization,
service level agreements, and risk management.
