HP announces its 'Fashiontronics' concept

Hewlett-Packard India unveiled a unique and interesting concept at the HP
pavilion 'Fashiontronics' show held in the capital. Showcased was HP's
vision of a seamless fusion of fashion and electronics. HP consolidated its
presence in the lifestyle segment by launching an entire new range of
fashionable accessories that include PC skins, wireless headsets and notebook
bags among others.

At the show, HP launched the latest in personalization-a wide range of
skins for HP notebooks and desktops that allow users to create a unique style
statement on their PCs. These skins have been designed to fit the shape and size
of HP products and are manufactured using state-of-the-art digital printing
technology.

HP has also partnered with Suneet Varma, the country's leading fashion
designer, to design and create some exclusive accessories. Varma has created
five designers PC skins and two special edition designer notebook bags, one for
men and one for women. These notebook bags are created from fine quality leather
and would be available in a wide range of colors and textures.

A range of bluetooth Jabra headsets, including a special Swarovski crystal
embellished headset, were also unveiled for the HP iPAQ range.

The Fashiontronics concept is an extension of HP's 'Computer is Personal
Again' global marketing campaign that was launched earlier this year in India.
The campaign focuses on the highly individual and personal relationship people
have with their computers.

Speaking on Fashion­tronics, Ravi Swaminathan, VP-HP Personal Systems
Group, HP India said, “Through Fashiontronics, HP attempts reach out to
customers who are looking at individuality and create a unique style statement.
In a colorful and style conscious market like India, we believe that the concept
will be huge success and will spawn many similar initiatives as well.”

Satjiv Chahil, Senior VP-Global Marketing, HP Personal Systems Group, HP
added “For us, the PC is not just a functional device anymore. It is an
important element of who we are. It is a reflection of our personality, an
expression of our style.
