HP brings StoreIT Program for SMBs

With an aim to expand its storage portfolio for SMBs, HP has announced new Simply StoreIT program.

Under the new program, HP enhanced its next generation of MSA entry disk array, HP StoreEasy storage portfolio.

The new HP MSA 2040 storage system simplifies management and improves performance up to four times faster than similarly priced fiber channel arrays.

With 16G connectivity, high-performance controller and solid-state disk (SSD) performance, MSA 2040 supports increasing workloads, reduces data center footprint and energy costs, protect existing investments and speed deployment with a unique data-in-place upgrade feature that allows customers on the previous MSA generation to move existing disk drives on the new infrastructure, and maximize existing resources with a management interface that server administrators currently use with HP ProLiant and HP BladeSystem servers.

The HP StoreEasy storage portfolio integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Windows infrastructure. It also provides persistent file and application availability. New enhancements to the portfolio include provisioning tools to enable customers create new volumes and optimize capacity.

Its de-duplication feature lowers costs and improves capacity planning by examining existing file shares on local or remote systems, and predicting the capacity space, ensures data availability with integrated snapshot management for quick file recovery, and productivity with a new wizard that accelerates configuration of clustered HP StoreEasy 3830 Gateways.

The new Simply StoreIT Program provides solution guides and reference architectures for partners to accelerate solution delivery in areas of virtualization, backup and data protection, Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL server, and file consolidation. This program will be part of the HP Just Right IT program.

HP Simply StoreIT Program will be launched in coordination with HP's distribution partners. It includes tools like quote and configuration templates, cobranded lead-generation assets, training and materials to increase sales opportunities.

Dual-controller MSA 2040 configurations begin at $11,470, with worldwide availability through HP and its channel partners expected to begin in July. HP StoreEasy Storage enhancements are available at no charge to existing and new customers starting June.
