HP Laserjet M1005 MFP was one of the key printing solutions that was launched at this platform. This multi-function LaserJet will equip enterprises to manage printing, copying, and scanning in a single, compact device that costs just a fraction more than a laser printer.

HP also took this opportunity to unveil its new Ink-advantage technology-the Deskjet Ink Advantage-with lower cost per page for ink, designed for users with frequent or moderate high-volume printing. The Deskjet F735 gives customers three times the print at half the price, enabling users to customize the way in which content is created, managed and printed. It gives SOHO and micro-business customers a greater choice and value through its versatile copying and scanning functionality.

Through its new go-to-market strategy, HP will focus on expanding its presence in regional states to strengthen its market leadership. West Bengal is one of the first few states that will experience a range of these new generation printing solutions.

To establish and expand its marketshare in the eastern region, HP has partnered with close to 170 retail and micro-retail partners across the region; this number is expected to grow by five to 10 percent by end of the year. With the non-metropolitan markets being a focus area for HP, the company's retail expansion plan aims to cover 12,000 stores by the end of 2009 across 700 towns and cities.

Elaborating on HP's strategy in the region, Rajkumar Rishi, Director-Inkjet and Web Solutions and Consumer Business Imaging and Printing Group, HO India said, “HP has maintained a clear leadership in the Indian printing space quarter-on-quarter, across categories. In our overall expansion plans, Kolkata/eastern India is an important market. The printing solutions unveiled today aim at further strengthening our product portfolio and market penetration in the region.”

“Besides reaching out to customers through 13 exclusive HP World retail outlets across the region, which will make shopping an experience for our home users, we are also revising the price range of the P1008 and P1505 series to ensure that enterprises are able to adopt HP printers that are affordable, yet high on quality and delivery. On the higher range, our color laserjets, including the CP 1215, 1515n and 2025 have created waves in established enterprise hubs, and we expect an even better response from the market here.”
