Hunt on for Zen Supreme

Chennai: C hannel partners in Chennai who were affected in the Rs 2.5 crore scam involving Zen Supreme have begun their hunt for the accused after the Official Assignee, High Court Madras asked them to hand over details so that legal actions could be initiated against the proprietors-Kalyana Sundaran, his wife Hemalatha and his brother Balasubramanium. Earlier the three accused were adjudicated insolvent on their petition by an order of the High Court, Madras dated July 10, 2008.

The second hearing for the case was supposed to happen on Dec 29, 2008, however as the court was on vacation, the hearing of the case was postponed to the third week of January 2009. Dealers have been asked to submit their claims with clear evidence before the official assignee of the High Court Madras by that date.

Since the proprietors of Zen Supreme did not turn up after filing for insolvency, the official assignee of the High Court Madras is said to have asked channel partners to find the whereabouts of the proprietors and their properties so that legal action can be initiated against them. "The Insolvency Officer asked the channels to submit their claims within the third week of January before the case comes for hearing. We have been asked to provide the whereabouts of those people and their properties so that the officer can initiate legal action against them," claimed a dealer who is actively spearheading the fight in the court against the insolvency.

The dealer also claimed that channel partners have began their search for the three proprietors of Zen Supreme through various means, and expressed confidence in producing their details to the insolvency officer.

On the other hand, partners are waiting for find out about the dealer in Ritchie Street, who is said to have been mentioned by Zen Supreme in its insolvency petition. The un-named dealer allegedly had a business dealing with Zen and owes an amount to Zen for that that dealing. "After the next hearing, we should be able to get the details of that Ritchie Street dealer and it would definitely be a turning point in the case," the channel partner claimed.
