Hyderabad association revived

Hyderabad: After three years of inactivity, Hyderabad-based Twin Cities Computer Dealers Association (TCCDA) conducted its election and formed a new team. The association is now looking forward to working for the welfare of its members. KVR Menon, MD, Orient Business Services has been elected as the new President of the association. The other office bearers of the association include Veera Swamy, CEO, Srilakshmi Innovations, as VP (I); Jayant Jain, CEO, PL Computers as VP (II); KRC Reddy, CEO, Rohan Peripherals as General Secretary; P Adi Sheshu, CEO, IT Park as Joint Secretary; Abay Kumar Baid, CEO, Global India as Treasurer.

Formed in 1998, TCCDA has 150 members from Hyderabad and Secunderabad. After being inactive for nearly three years, members of the association took the initiative to revamp the association, starting by holding the elections last month. It may be noted that Menon was the Founder of the association and has lead the office twice during 1999 and 2003.

Claiming that the ultimate aim of the office bearers of the association was to regain past glory and win the confidence of dealers, Menon said that TCCDA would work hard to protect and promote the wellbeing of members and their trade. "We have planned to consolidate membership and work towards restoring the confidence in the association. Member welfare which is our objective. We would also find ways and means to simplify the dealings with distributors, principals and ensure that the complaints, claims, back-end are settled with in a fixed time frame. TCCDA would also be work towards cordial relationship between dealers in their day-to-day dealings," Menon averred.

However, the revival of the association received mixed response from partners in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. "There was no election and this formation has happened only for the benefit of a few dealers," said G Mahender, CEO, Compage Computers, Hyderabad. DJ Mistry, CEO, Yudan Computers and Peripherals claimed that the association needs to follow up with issues that are lying in front of the dealers and solve them first. "First of all there are a few issue that need to be sorted out. Secondly there is no proper member directory in the association, which is mandatory so that dealers know each other. They need to bring out a member dairy as soon as possible," Mistry claimed.

Other dealers preferred to stay in a wait and watch mode. "We need to wait and see how the association functions. If an association is be formed and them dissolved due to the time factor, this would waste the time of the rest of the people. So first we need to see if anything happens at all, only then can we comment or involve ourselves," said Vikas KS Hisariya, CEO, Vishal Peripherals, Hyderabad.

When asked about the feedback that the association has received from partners, Menon stated that the association is open to suggestions. "We are open to feedback from the partner community. Only then would we be able to understand and deliver accordingly," Menon averred.
