IBM and Tally to revolutionize ERP buying

Mumbai: IBM and Tally will be jointly delivering Tally's ERP 9 Gold on IBM's Smart Business platform.

Available starting at less than Rs 5 lakh, it can provide all of the fundamental capabilities needed to run a small or medium business, including PBX, e-mail, calendaring, instant messaging. Customers who choose Tally ERP 9 on Smart Business will enjoy benefits, including faster implementation, simplified administration, automatic problem reporting and updates.  In addition, IBM will stand behind the total solution providing a single point of contact to resolve any technical issues.

IBM announced that it will offer IT Security Assessment workshop customized for its existing and potential Indian region customers in order to help organizations assess their current security posture. The workshop will help companies identify security risk areas within the organization and develop a practical risk mitigation strategy that is aligned to their business growth objectives. For a limited time, IBM will organize a half day workshop at the qualifying customers' premises at no charge to them.

“This security workshop addresses an organization's concerns with their security infrastructure. It will help our customers understand their threat, compliance or audit issues and how to prioritize these security requirements by determining the interdependency of these security needs,” said Rekha Garapati, Director-India Software Labs, IBM India.

According to a recent CFO survey published by IBM Business Consulting Group, approximately 43 percent of CFOs think that improving governance, control and risk management is their top challenge. According to the WhiteHat Security 2008 survey, 82 per cent of websites have had at least one security issue.

The assessment workshop includes coverage of all information security management facets, including infrastructure and network security, Internet/intranet access and security, application software security, governance structure, security incident response and management and virus protection and data encryption. After analysis of the results from the security risk assessment, safeguards will be identified and evaluated for their effectiveness. 

The workshop will incorporate IBM tools, best practices and templates to develop an IT security strategic roadmap customized to each customer's business needs.
