Bangalore : Informatica, provider of data integration software solutions, is
looking to expand its partner base in India. The company wants to tie-up with
regional SIs working in the data integration space. As a step forward in that
direction, Sonata Information Technology Limited (SITL) has been appointed as
national distributor in India. This appointment, according to the company is in
line with Informatica's plans to address the growing demand for data integration
(DI) solutions in the enterprises and SMB/SMEs space.
Commenting on the tie-up, Harry Goud Senior VP of Worldwide Alliances,
Informatica said, "Sonata and Informatica will jointly market special
schemes specifically designed for the Indian market - such as the data
integration pack for the SMB segment, starter pack for IT companies, easy-access
solutions pack for AS/400 and proprietary systems' customers, ERP and legacy
retirement data migration solution pack, which are being rolled out at the
moment."
Indicating that Informatica's go-to-market strategy in India would to be
through partners, Goud said, "We have launched a number of go-to-market
initiatives in India for solution sets in the risk management and compliance,
master data management, enterprise data warehouse and cross enterprise data
integration space. Our partners are crucial to the successful roll out and
implementation of these solutions and we are working very closely with them in
all these areas."
"Depending on the customer preference, the required domain expertise and
the solution sets, Informatica works with a variety of partners in India. They
include Accenture, Tata Consultancy, Wipro, Infosys besides regional SIs like
Dexterity Systems, Java Softech and Sonata in addition to technology partners
like SAP, Cognos, HP and Teradata," he added.
Telecom and banking sector were important verticals of growth for Informatica,
Goud said. "Our partners are critical for driving business in India since
they help us to enable our customers to leverage our technology as per their
needs. The market is growing rapidly in India as is the demand for data
migration, integration, quality, synchronization and warehousing. India is a
critical market for Informatica and we are committed to continuing our
investment here," he added.
According to Goud the Bangalore center is the second largest office for
Informatica globally, and has been growing at a rate of approximately 25 percent
each year.
"We have a large R&D facility in Bangalore and we will continue to
grow that while making investments in areas for the overall growth of our
organization. Informatica has more than 20 active relationships with major
Indian partner firms and we expect those to continue to flourish and grow over
time," he said.
