Ironport Systems, provider of enterprise spam, virus and spyware protection
solutions will soon launch its S-series solutions in India. While the exact date
of launch has not been revealed the solutions are likely to hit the market very
soon. Giving details Rand Wacker, Group Product Manager for IronPort Systems
said, "The S-series is a unique solution that not only helps to track
possible threats like spam and virus but also comes installed with malware
engines, Url filters and has in place faculties which can keep tab on the
network traffic and detect systems on the network which have been compromised.
It is a holistic solution which customers can benefit from and is priced very
competitively."
According to Wacker data loss prevention is a huge point of concern across
the globe and organizations are burning their midnight oil to look at newer and
more effective ways to prevent that. "Data Loss Prevention (DLP) is a
serious issue for companies; the number of incidents (and associated costs)
continues to increase. Unfortunately current firewall and other network security
solutions do not include data loss prevention capabilities to secure data in
motion. Important controls, such as content scanning, blocking of communications
containing sensitive data and encryption, are missing. A good DLP solution must
enable multi-protocol monitoring and prevention; content-level analysis of all
major file and attachment types; selective blocking and/or quarantining of
messages and automatic enforcement of corporate encryption policies,"
Wacker said.
The critical first step towards addressing the data loss problem, he feels is
to develop a comprehensive understanding and inventory of the types of sensitive
data that exist within the organization and define policies to control and
enforce how that data can be shared.
India expansion:
New product launches apart, Ironport is also looking to expand its base in
India. Currently working with about 25 odd partners across the country, the
company is looking to increase that number and wants to enter more geographies.
"We are looking out for security and networking partners whom we would
provide training on the sales as well as technical side," Wacker indicated
while adding, "While network security is a cause for concern across all
verticals, we see good growth opportunity in the BFSI, IT/ITES, Government and
manufacturing verticals. We are also looking to work closely with the Telcos and
ISVs here in India to develop relevant and customized solutions for our India
customers."
Currently having offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, Ironport is also
contemplating the setting up of one more office in India although the location
has not yet been finalized.
"Products and solutions part, services is also a big revenue stream for
us. As far as services are concerned we are looking at all possible ways in
which our partners can benefit from providing service. They can either provide
support services or can take up outsourcing of services as an option. We are
also looking to tie-up with service providers who can provide multiple
services," Wacker said.
