New Update

During a recent meeting conducted by Chennai's Indian Software Dealers
Association (ISODA), members decided not to pay freight charges levied by
distributors in invoices. “In the meeting, attended by 16 out of 18 members of
ISODA, one of the key issues discussed was the sudden imposition of freight
charges by distributors on the invoices of products. We strongly believe that it
is the responsibility of distributors to deliver the material to our offices.
Charging Rs 75 per invoice would make them a logistics company rather than a
distribution company,” said Sudarsan Ranganathan, Regional Secretary-South,
ISODA.

The issue has come up strongly among members and as a result the Chennai
chapter of the association has decided to take up the issue with distributors by
requesting them to remove the freight charges. “We are facing several account
issues as distributors are charging it separately. Moreover, if we are going to
spend thousands in these charges alone. We have sent a request endorsed by
members to Ingram Micro and Redington,” he informed. Ranganathan said that the
move has been communicated to the other chapters of ISODA.
