IT parks signal good times for Chandigarh partners

With the recent opening of an IT park in Panchkula, partners in and around
the town are hoping that the emergence of more such IT parks will help drive
their sales. They felt that local dealers should be given an opportunity to
serve big companies and the announcement of the IT park launch is a sign of good
business from them.

Satpal Singh of Chandigarh-based DS Data Spec said that opening of IT parks
should be taken in positive way and it is a good sign because it would give them
an opportunity to sign big deals and take up challenging projects. Other dealers
in Chandigarh said that the opening of such parks may not give a major boost to
their business directly but it surely increased the number of their customers,
as employees of these MNCs have to depend on them for any IT service or product.

"Mohali also has such IT parks but it has not affected us in a big way.
The multinational companies have their own source of service and support and
they do not bring big projects for us. But surely their employees become our
customers and for any personal service they take our support," said Dinesh
Sharma, Proprietor of Chandigarh's OST Electronics. Another dealer felt that
overall it is good for partners that IT hubs are being developed in their region
because it will generate lot of business opportunities in the future.

The Haryana government had recently announced the launch of its first IT Park
in Panchkula that would have the potential of generating employment for 40,000
people.
