Jaipur gets a new IT forum

Jaipur: A group of IT dealers in Jaipur have come together to form Rajasthan IT Forum. The forum has been started by 12 members including Arvind Modi of Bits & Bytes, Rajan Mathur of EMS, Kailash Gupta of ETSC and Gaurav of ICOM. According to the founding members, it is a non-profitable, non-politicized group where no elections and executive post would be alloted to anybody, and is not intended to compete with Rajasthan Computer Traders' Association (RCTA).

Giving details of the newly formed forum, Arvind Modi, a founding member of the forum said, "It is an independent body and is open to all IT dealers. Initially we are registering Jaipur dealers and gradually we will include members from other districts in Rajasthan as well. Since there are no posts or elections, the members will ensure that politics does not creep into the system. The forum has been developed for the welfare of IT dealers."

Elaborating on the same, Modi further said, "Often we keep on blaming others for all the trade related problems faced by us. We blame the vendors for strict policies and non co-operative attitude, the re-sellers for being bad paymasters, the customers for being too demanding and the association for not doing much for the welfare of its members and being insensitive to member related issues. However, we seldom sit back and reflect on what we have done to improve the situation we are in today. We need to ask ourselves what is our contribution to the trade, besides cribbing about all the problems being faced by us?"

It is with this objective in mind that the forum has been formed. It will see like minded people come together to act as a think tank for all IT related issues faced by the IT community. "It may act as an advisor to others including RCTA, it may act directly, it may initiate a discussion or dialogue between various parties involved or simply just discuss and express its opinion on any trade related issue or topic," shared Modi.

Commenting on the development of the forum, Rajkumar Poonia, President, RCTA said that since it is a non-profitable group, it would help the dealers to raise their areas of concern and even members of RCTA can enroll themselves.

Dealers can log on to http://rajitforum.ning.com/. There is no registration charges and members can post their issues and areas of concern.
