JCDA cancels December IT expo; postpones dealer meet

New Delhi: The Jalandhar Computers Dealers Association (JCDA) will not
conduct its IT expo this year. According to Rajiv Khanna, president of the
association, last year the JCDA organized its first IT expo in December and
received good response from customers. However, the event was not organized this
year since the association members could not take time out from their busy
schedules. "Since we could not organize the IT expo this year, we are planning
to hold the fair either in January or February next year," Khanna said.

But Inder Mohan Bhaskar, Secretary, JCDA said that the expo could not be
organized as they found it difficult to finalize the right venue for the event.

According to various members of JCDA, a lack of initiative among members to
come forward and hold the exhibition and take responsibility were the main
reasons for not holding the expo.

However the association has proposed to hold a dealers' meet, which would
be open to the family members of the dealers as well. This meet, earlier
scheduled for December 30th has now been postponed to January 26th, 2008. "Initially
the meet was planned for the end of the year, however most dealers are busy so
we have planned to conduct it on January 26th next year since that would be
convenient for all dealers," Khanna said.

This time around JCDA is planning to involve vendors in the expo and is
seeking their participation. The association is also planning to conduct its
annual elections in month of March next year.
