JITA: United we stand

Jamshedpur IT Association, or JITA as it is popularly known, is ready to make
a strong comeback. After lying low for some time the association is back with a
bang. Spearheaded by its newly elected executive body JITA is all set to
re-establish its faith in the Jamshedpur channel fraternity.

The first ever elections for the office bearers were held in April.
Explaining the agenda of the new office Indranil Gupta, Executive Committee
Member, JITA said, "This is a new and young team with an extremely positive
thought process and vision. They have already teamed up to kick start various
activities." Interestingly all the erstwhile office bearers has also joined
the new team as executive committee members in order to provide guidance and
consultation to the team.

The key focus of the newly appointed executive body is to cultivate and
increase the member strength of JITA. Elaborating Ajay Verma, VP-PR, JITA said,
"We took up the responsibility of recruiting new members three months back.
Right now the member strength of JITA is around sixty and we are targeting to
enhance it further adding a minimum of twenty more partners by the end of this
year."

To fulfill its target of making JITA a powerful and effective association
within eastern India the association is also looking at inviting members from
adjoining areas like Ghatshila and Chaibasa to join in. Talking about the
revived enthusiasm within the association Raj Rajneesh, President, JITA said,
"As members of JITA, we are aiming to work towards the betterment of the
trade as well as the local market and improve it in order to benefit all the
members. We have been dormant for quite some time but now we are coming up
stronger than before," he stated.

The association is also planning to organize several events involving the
members in order to enhance member interaction and improve internal relations.
"We are also upgrading our official website and the work is progressing
well. Within next fortnight the site will be constructed fully and will be
running properly," informed Verma. While the website will contain all
information of JITA and its members the executive body is on other hand working
towards making it as interactive as possible.

The new committee is also keen on addressing all issues of concern. "We
are also planning to take up ongoing issues like the Microsoft raids, warranty
support, etc which affects the partners. On behalf of JITA we are trying to
build a platform where the members can lodge their grievances and accordingly
the association will intervene and try to resolve the matter," informed
Verma. To make the process more effective JITA is also planning to form several
sub-committees comprising of the executive committee members who will address to
various vendor or distributor related issues or grievances.

The new committee is also looking at organizing the much awaited IT trade
fair JITA Manthan by September. "September is a good season when the IT
fair can be organized. This is a time just ahead of Puja and Diwali when people
receives their bonuses and have lot of disposable income. So we are planning to
organize JITA Manthan during that time" informed Sailesh Singh, Secretary,
JITA.

The way forward:

· To grow JITA by adding more members to its credit

· To launch the JITA website www.jita.co.in
in more effective and full-featured way

· To organize JITA trade fare IT MANTHAN 2007

· To make JITA a mutual platform where it can solve the problems & issues
of the resellers and venders

· Work together for betterment of the Jamshedpur IT market as well as
surrounding areas
