Kodak signs HCL; Neoteric out of picture

By awarding the assignment of distributing digicams to HCL Infosystems, Kodak
has marked an end to its partnership with Mumbai-based Neoteric Infomatique,
which has been its national distributor for several years now. However, Kodak
and Neoteric both preferred to remain silent on the speculations about the
reason behind this parting of ways.

With the new partnership, Kodak is trying to reach out to a larger spectrum
of customers for which it has revived marketing budgets and trained personnel;
streamlined service support network, etc. HCL has planned to market the Kodak
digicams through HCL Digilife stores nationwide besides utilizing its
distribution network. HCL will also be responsible for Kodak's pan-India
institutional sales.
