Krone indicates a change in its distribution model

Structured cabling vendor Krone Communications has indicated a change in its distribution model. Currently the company has various regional distributors in place and is now looking at roping in a national distributor. “We would be freezing on one of the top three national distys in about two month’s time,” says DS Nagendra, Country Sales Manager, Krone Communications. 

However, he assures that the company won’t simply do away with the regional distributors. “As long as the regional distys are able to provide us with value-adds, we would continue to work with them,” emphasizes Nagendra. It is to be noted that the company previously too had Nebula Technologies as its national distributor but parted ways with it, once the disty started experiencing serious financial problems.

The company is also bullish about its newest product CopperTen, which it claims to be the world’s first 10-Gigabit UTP (unshielded twisted pair) cable. “So far this CAT 6 cable is the only IEEE approved product providing a 10 Gigabit connectivity and we are hopeful of many customers going for this technology,” adds Nagendra. He expects CopperTen to contribute nearly 10% of Krone’s business (enterprise-class) in the current fiscal. 

The company would also be organizing a series of roadshows across metros and some major B-class cities to demonstrate this technology to partners as well as end-customers. “For CopperTen, we would be aggressively targeting R&D centers and IT companies,” informs
Nagendra.

Despite its recent acquisition by global major ADC, Krone officials assert that the products, branding and warranty of the company would remain intact. “The entire integration process will take some time. However, the product lines would continue to exist and so would the support commitment on them,” assures
Nagendra.
