Lanner launches desktop network security appliance

Lanner Electronics India Ltd, an industrial and embedded PC applications company, has launched a compact desktop network security appliance FW-500ME. According to the company, the appliance is especially designed for the SOHO market (five – 50 users). Its onboard low power consumption processor ensembles security applications like firewall/VPN/bandwidth management and traffic management.

FW-500ME supports a desktop machine with 300MHz processing speed and 64 MB RAM on board (with optional 128 MB RAM), supporting hard disk and Disk on Module (DOM), have 3 LAN ports named as internal, external and DMZ ports.
