Lauren launches software for fund managers, individual investors

Lauren Information Technologies (LIT), better known for its solutions providing activities with strong focus on software solutions, has launched its own portfolio management tool called
Networth.

Networth is a web-enabled portfolio management application that helps fund managers to manage portfolio of different types of instrument. It is targeted at any asset management company or individual investor wanting to record and manage their fund. Typically, customers would be advisory services company, mutual fund houses or even individual investors.

According to Sushant Panda, Executive Director - ISG of LIT, there aren't many portfolio management software available in the country. Networth will probably be the first portfolio management application in the country to works on a web-based interface with a lot of user-friendly features.

The company has clearly defined the positioning of Networth by releasing it in three different editions. Accordingly to Sushant, three different channels have been chosen to market them. The Standard edition for Rs 3,950 can be used by home users or individual investors and hence will be sold through retail outlet. "However, we are banking on the word-of-mouth marketing for its sales," says Priti Advani, Product Manager, LIT.

The Business edition, priced at Rs 99,999, will be limited to five users and 100 clients. It will be sold through channel partners to companies who managed the assets of their clients. LIT is on the lookout for channel partners who can sell this product in the right customer segment.

The Enterprise edition, priced at Rs 3.49 lakh, has the same set of features, which the Business edition has, but will work on unlimited clients and users. This will be sold directly by the company to enterprises.

According to Sushant, the first version of Networth is designed to generate the required statutory, financial and MIS reports (some 20 of them). Future versions will incorporate graphical and PDF reports with a lot of features.
