Legato Software is planning to expand its reach in B and C class cities this fiscal. The company has selected 24 such cities, where it would
conduct various programs to attract channel partners. The company today has 100 partners spread across the country and in the next one year, it plans
to add 50 more in the B and C class cities.
According to Pushpendra Kumar Gupta, Director, Strategic Development, Legato, "Earlier Legato's primary focus was in the enterprise
segment, but lately we have also started to concentrate on the small and medium
businesses. This means that we have to penetrate more in the B and C class cities and I am sure that this fiscal would see many activities done
from our end to expand our reach in smaller towns."
Pushpendra feels that the storage market is growing at a phenomenal pace and Legato wants to take full advantage of that. "It is very important to
understand the strong points of the channel partners, some may be good in the SMB space, some in defense, some in enterprise. Our intention is
to chalk out who is best at what and then leverage on their strengths," adds he.
Legato is also planning to launch couple of new high availability storage products in three months time frame. Pushpendra feels
that information archival is one of the high growing areas in the storage sector today
and Legato's present product portfolio assists it in taking the utmost advantage of this scenario. "Messaging is another area which is growing at a
fast pace and we have launched a product in this segment to cater to the storage needs of e-mails. So far, the response has been rather
encouraging and we feel that the scope to earn in this segment is huge," Pushpendra sums up.
