Linksys launches a series of new products

Linksys has announced the latest addition to its home control family of
products, the Linksys Wireless-G Internet Home Monitoring Camera with Audio
(WVC54GCA). Unlike standard "web cams" this one can connect to a
network, either over wireless-G (802.11g) networking, or over 10/100 Ethernet
cable and is designed to offer up to 640x480 video streams by choosing either a
MPEG-4 or Motion JPEG video compression. The camera can be mounted on a wall
nearly anywhere, or slipped it into its included stand for desktop use.

Additionally Linksys has also launched its new Media Center Extender with DVD
Player (DMA2200) and Media Center Extender (DMA2100) for purchase. These new
products will team with existing Linksys offerings, such as Ultra RangePlus
Dual-Band Gigabit Router, Network Storage System and Home Monitoring Camera, to
offer a complete home entertainment solution.

The DMA2200 and DMA2100 allow support for popular video and audio codecs such
as Xvid, along with continued support for Windows Media Video HD files. These
extenders also support the ability to send protected HD content to additional
rooms, including recorded TV from over-the-air ATSC or Cable Card tuners along
with movies and music available from providers. Support is also included for
features such as news feeds, Public Radio broadcasts, up-to-date sports reports,
and subscription music.

Linksys has also announced the new version of EasyLink Advisor to help
consumers' set-up, monitor, update and secure their home network. It features
live technical support via its embedded WebEx client and educational tools to
help consumers make the most of their home networks and can help to set up a
router with a series of simple questions, automatically checks the network for
alerts about updates that are available for the router, and helps to securely
configure connected devices and computers. It also automatically checks the PC
and network for existing conditions that may hinder the installation and
attempts to resolve any potential conflicts. No passwords or confusing network
terminology are required.

In addition to the above Linksys announced several additions to its Ultra
RangePlus family of Wireless-N products. Products from the Ultra RangePlus
family include the Wireless-N Gigabit Router (WRT310N), the Wireless-N Broadband
Router (WRT160N), the Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Notebook Adapter (WUSB600N),
Dual-Band Wireless-N ExpressCard Adapter (WEC600N), and the Dual-Band Wireless-N
Gaming Adapter (WGA600N).
