Ludhiana dealer robbed at gun point

Ludhiana: Safety and security of the IT dealers has become an issue in Ludhiana as the frequency of thefts and burglarys are increasing. Another such incident took place in Ludhiana recently with Devinder Mehandru of Complete Computer Care and Micro Solutions while he was returning from his office to home at 10PM.

Recounting the sequence of events, Mehandru said, “Three men in a white Maruti Swift intercepted me on the pretext of seeking help to change their punctured car tire. Instead, they robbed me of cash, my mobile phone, gold and one printer at gun point.”

Mehandru added that a police complaint had been filed but he cautioned other channel partners to beware of such men. “We all need to take extra precautions while returning home as the men involved appeared very decent and one could not make out that they could be involved in such practices,” said Mehandru.

Association of Computer Entrepreneurs, an association of local channel partners has circulated the information to all dealers in Ludhiana through an e-mail in which Mahendru has requested dealers to inform him if someone approaches them for the sale or exchange of an Epson Fx2175 printer.

Mehandru faced a total loss of Rs 50,000. He was alone when the incident happened and could not note down the number of the vehicle.
