Lumension Security begins India operations

Lumension Security formerly PatchLink is looking to expand its footprint in
India. The company would be headquartered in Mumbai and would have branch
offices in Bangalore and Delhi.

"As of now we are a one-man strong organization in India and hope to
grow 300 percent over the next few months. Our India operations have rolled out
with the appointment of Shamshad Ahmed, as the regional director for India and
SAARC," said Neal Gemassmer, VP APAC, Lumension Security.

The company plans to take the channel route to reach out to potential
customers in India and has appointed Bangalore-based Inflow technologies as its
distributor. "We will look at a two-tier channel model that would encompass
system integrators and distributors who have the relevant expertise in the
security space," Gemassmer indicated. He further added that BFSI,
government, IT/ITeS, manufacturing and transportation would be their key
verticals of focus.

Elaborating on the India strategy, Gemassmer said, "Lumension Security
is shifting the security paradigm from a reactive to a proactive approach by
integrating best-of-breed, enterprise-class solutions that would reduce overall
complexity and costs, and offer better solutions to organizations." He
added that the company would invest more in India since the country is one of
the largest potential markets for Lumension in the APAC region.

PatchLink Corporation announced its new corporate identity, Lumension
Security, on September 10 this year. The name change followed PatchLink's two
acquisitions in the previous nine months: the STAT Guardian vulnerability
management suite from Harris Corp. and SecureWave SA.
