Manish Goyal is MPTCTA President

Indore: MP Telecom and Computer Traders Association (MPTCTA ) held its annual election in which Manish Goyal of Byte Peripherals was unanimously elected as President for the third time in a row.

The newly elected members of MPTCTA are Sumeet Gupta of Ontrack Systems and Ritesh Jhawar of Computer House as VP, Raghvendra Tripathi of Hard N Soft as Secretary, Jagdish Mantri of Apex Computer as Joint Secretary and Manjeet Singh Chhabra of Chhabra Computer Shopee as Treasurer.

The executive members include Mahesh Bajaj of Bajaj Computers, BS Bhati of Friends Computer Consultancy, Pankaj Jain of Streamline, Umesh Singhania of Singhania Enterprises.

The members forming the election committee are Rikhab Jain as Chairman Nomination Committee and Vaibhav Nagori as Co-Chairman Nomination Committee.

“For the past two years the activities of MPTCTA have been running parallel with the business of channel partners. We have been able to give equal focus on IT trade as well as the activities of the association. This year also our main objective will be to solve the issues of our members and take MPTCTA to new heights,” said Goyal.

Speaking to the association members after his election, Goyal highlighted the issue of reducing profitability and increased free-of-charge service expectations of customer and assured the dealers of resolving the issue this year. He also expressed his views on different issues arising between LFRs and small computer retailers.

“This time we will work on isolating the price of products from the service charges because when customers buy a product, they by default consider the service charge to be included in the product bill. This creates friction with the customers at a later stage as the service is charged separately. Also, large format retailers sell products at prices that is lesser than small channel partners and this is an issue of worry for us,” said Goyal.

The election was held in Indore on May 2, 2009. The total number of members present during the election was 68.
