It was its conscious decision to focus on telecom, anti-virus and Internet
security range of products that helped Mumbai-based Mediaman Infotech to record
a revenue figure of Rs 292 crore in FY'2008-09, 15 percent up from previous
fiscal. Strengthening and expanding their tie-ups to further ESET range of
anti-virus products and Internet security products was another of Mediaman's
well calculated decisions that helped them emerge as a strong national
distributor for the latter.
The decision also saw Mediaman appoint a host of sub-dstributors to
strengthen ESET's presence further in states, including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil
Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. In view of the increasing opportunities and market
size, it has decided to add few other security vendors to its existing range of
portfolio.
Having achieved a stable growth figure, Mediaman is now planning to lay
emphasis on its own brand, Bravish. The product range includes laptop
accessories. One of the main agendas for Mediaman would be to add few more
accessories and products to its existing portfolio. The company is aiming at
securing one of the top three positions in the accessories segment by
introducing Bravish.
One of the primary reasons behind the distributors' improved performance was
its strategy to focus on telecom products instead of adding IT products. It is
also expanding its footprint in five other locations while training around 110
personnel at the same time. A major portion, nearly 31 percent of the company's
revenues came from the IT and ITeS alongside the system integration business.
