Mediaman Infotech has ventured into the gaming space and tied up with Hong
Kong-based Palit Microsystems to acquire the latter's graphics cards
distribution rights pan India. The deal is a result of mutual negotiations over
the last one-quarter. Speaking on the tie up Dushyant Mehta, MD and CEO of
Mediaman Infotech said, "The tie-up is a very strategic one for us given
that the gaming market is a rapidly growing one. Palit is the right partner for
us since they operate in the gaming cards space and understand customer and
market needs very well."
According to Mehta, Mediaman would benefit from the venture since the gaming
market is expected to grow by nearly 50 percent next year and probably double up
over the next couple of years.
As part of their strategy to promote Palit products, Mediaman has identified
about 15 cities across India where they would involve in promotional campaigns.
"We would be promoting these goods in the metros as well as B-Class cities
through road shows. We would begin the first five road shows in the metros
shortly," Mehta said.
The company is meanwhile is looking to tie-up with like-minded partners to
maximize on the opportunities in the gaming space. Mehta meanwhile indicated
that graphics cards in the price range of Rs. 2,000 to Rs.50, 000 would offer
partners a margin of around 7-10 percent.
