Mediatech ties up as exclusive distributor for Foxconn products

Keeping its tradition of tying up with OEM/ODM manufacturer Mediatech India
has now tied up with Taiwan-based Foxconn for distributing its products

exclusively in India. Mediatech will introduce Foxconn's desktop PC and server
motherboards followed by chassis and cooling systems to resellers and retailers
nationwide. They will be available in a week's time.

Foxconn, the trade name of Hon Hai Precision Industry Co, is one of the world's
largest manufacturers of cable assemblies and motherboards. It is also the world's
largest manufacturer of PC connectors and enclosures.

"There were two key factors that excited us about introducing Foxconn
brand to our customers. Their vast manufacturing experience of over 30 years and
product acceptance from leading VARs that will ensure value, performance and
stability for Indian consumers," said Piyush Chaterbhoj, MD, Mediatech
India.

"Finding a manufacturer willing to learn about the Indian market and its
requirements before trying to sell anything was equally important for us. This
is exactly what Foxconn did before joining hands with us," he added.

Foxconn has taken warranty and support very seriously and are in the process
of setting up 3rd party service centers across India. According to Vincent Yuan,
GM of Foxconn's Channel Service Division, the company's plans to enter India
was several years in the making, but the company did not want to be precipitous.
"We wanted to learn about the users, the channel, and local preferences
before leaping into the market. We wanted a long-term partner," said
Vincent.
