Moser Baer to expand IT product portfolio

Moser Baer is planning to launch a number of IT products in the Indian
market. The company will shortly be launching products including LCD monitors,
motherboards, webcams and TV tuners by the end of July this year.

The company's existing product portfolio includes USB drives, memory cards,
optical disc drives and UPS.

Elaborating on the range of products, Sudip De, Assistant GM-Domestic
Marketing, Moser Baer mentioned, “Once we have motherboards, we can look at
having our own brand of PCs as we are already manufacturing various other
components that go into the making of a PC. But there are no plans to launch a
PC yet. Besides, adding LCD monitors to the existing range of IT products will
put Moser Baer in the league with major players in the industry.”

Talking about the recently launched UPS, De mentioned that the product marked
the foray of Moser Baer into power conditioning products and has received good
response from the market so far. Elaborating on the company's marketing
strategy, De stated that the company is looking at offering quality products and
virtual manufacturing in their efforts to further strengthen their position in
the market.

In order to provide best-in-class services Moser Baer will be adding two
service centers every month. It may be noted that the company already has 48
service centers across the country.

The company is also looking to revamp its existing channel policy and provide
a fixed model to support its channel partners. The new policy will be announced
