MS to offer flexi payment option

Innovative marketing strategies and offerings have always worked in
price-conscious countries like India. Now Microsoft, the software major that was
till now known for its expensive software, is making an effort to provide
software to those customers for whom it was out of reach till now.

Designed to tap the emerging markets and to cater to the changing needs of
consumers, the software vendor has introduced Microsoft 2007 Office Prepaid
Edition, which offers productivity software. Explaining how the prepaid edition
works, Sanjay Manchanda, Director, Microsoft Business Division, India said, “The
prepaid edition is bundled with a new PC through our system builders. This
Office Ready PC comes with a six months subscription trial period. After that
period, the customer can decide whether they want to renew their subscription.”
