Mukul Singhal becomes new MAIT President

Mukul Singhal, Chairman and MD, Lipi Data Systems Ltd has been appointed the
President of the Manufacturers' Association for Information Technology (MAIT)
for the term 2006-08. SS Raman, President, TVS Electronics is the new VP of the
association. MAIT is the apex body representing the interests of the IT
manufacturing and hardware and designs and associated services sectors of the IT
industry in India.

Vinnie Mehta, Executive Director, MAIT, said, “We are delighted to have
Mukul Singhal as our new President. Singhal is a veteran in the hardware
industry and has been associated with MAIT for several years now as an important
member of our executive council. Earlier, as its VP, he made significant
contributions to the IT Industry and the association. I am confident that under
his stewardship, the IT manufacturing industry will progress and scale greater
heights. We are also extremely pleased that SS Raman, President, P&S Group,
TVS Electronics is our new VP.” Singhal replaces Rajendra Kumar, who will “continue
to be an integral part of our executive council,” Mehta added.
