Mumbai partners duped of Rs 80 lakh

Mumbai: Partners in Mumbai allege they have been duped by a company called Ganpati Infotech. The company was also operating and billing under a forged named-Ganesha Computers. The affected partners claim that the scam amounts to an approximate Rs 80 lakh.

Mumbai-based Trade Association of IT (TAIT) informed The DQ Week that Ganpati Infotech, operating under various other names, is basically a Delhi-based company. Association members claim that its proprietor Karan Maninder Singh used to procure materials from partners in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, Dadar, Mahim and Kalamboli. “We have not received any official complaint since the affected parties are not our members. However, the issue has come to our notice these partners,” informed a TAIT member.

Prakash Singh, Proprietor, Intricate, whose system integrator partners have been duped by Singh stated, “We had billed CPUs and portable hard disks worth Rs 4 lakh to our system integrator partners-BM Computers of Belapur and Sri Krishna Computers of Kalamboli. They in turn had sold products to Ganpati Infotech, which had an office in Belapur. Singh used to frequently purchase materials from partners in Vashi, Belapur and surrounding areas. He was operating in the region for the past four to five months and initially he used to deal in cash. However, all of a sudden, the proprietor vanished.”

When contacted Beenu Mathew, Proprietor, BM Computers mentioned, “A police complaint has been lodged against Karan Maninder Singh at the Belapur Police Station (FIR #I/8609). I have around Rs 14 lakh to be claimed from Ganpati Infotech. The official figures for the fraud that we have arrived at is around Rs 80 lakh. Partners from Vashi, Navi Mumbai, Dadar, Mahim, Belapur and one from Kalamboli have been duped by the company.”

Singh was not reachable on his mobile numbers, despite repeated attempts at the time of filing the report.
