Nagpur association uses real estate as new revenue source

Members of the Vidarbha Computer and Media Dealers' Welfare Association (VCMDWA) are all excited about the association's new 2000 square feet hall, which was purchased from funds accumulated over the years. 

This hall will be a good revenue source for the association as it will be used for internal and external meetings, conferences and parties; with a capacity to host up to 70 people together. "We will be competing with the banquet rooms of hotels in the vicinity with this conference hall," says Sudhir Budhay, President, VCMDWA. The centrally air-conditioned hall will feature provisions for buffet meals, overhead projector and many other basic amenities.

Located at the Central Bazar Road, the hall is at the center of the city and work is underway for its interior designing. The acquisition and beautification of the hall cost VCMDWA Rs 40 lakh, for which the association will soon collect more funds from its members. The hall is expected to be ready for use in three to four months time. 

According to Sudhir, the investment in the conference hall will benefit the association in the long run. "Every month vendors come to Nagpur to conduct their conference or training programs at expensive hotels. Once our hall is ready, we will be in a position to provide vendors with a world-class hall with all the amenities at a reasonable rate," says
Sudhir.

The hall is ventilated with natural light and hopes to serve the welfare of the members at a reasonable rate. "We will also save a lot in terms of our own association meetings," adds Sudhir.
