Nasscom appoints Dr Kamlesh Bajaj as Head-Security Initiatives

Nasscom has announced the appointment of Dr Kamlesh Bajaj as CEO, Data
Security Council of India (DSCI) and as the Head-Security Initiatives, Nasscom.
In addition to assuming the office of the CEO of DSCI, Bajaj will be responsible
for providing direction to Nasscom's ongoing security initiatives and
activities.

Bajaj will be based in the New Delhi office of DSCI. Nasscom had earlier
announced the appointment of Shyamal Ghosh as the Chairman, DSCI.

DSCI, operating under the aegis of Nasscom, is a self-regulatory initiative
in data security and privacy protection.

Announcing his appointment, Som Mittal, President, Nasscom said, “We are
delighted to announce Bajaj's appointment as part of Nasscom, and DCSI. His
rich experience will add immense value to this effort by Nasscom and the
industry. The DSCI has covered considerable ground since its inception and we
see Bajaj's experience contributing significantly to taking this to the next
level, as the organization grows and takes up additional initiatives and
responsibilities.”

Bajaj said, “I am very excited about this new opportunity; it is a very
challenging responsibility and I am committed to taking the DSCI forward, as has
been envisaged by Nasscom and the DSCI steering committee. With Nasscom and the
industry's support, we see DSCI emerging as the most credible and committed
body for upholding an effective data privacy and security standard in India.”

Bajaj has over 30 years of experience in various capacities in the IT
industry. His last role before joining Nasscom was as Global Head-Information
Risk Management and Managed Security Services, Global Consulting Practice, TCS.
He was the Founder Director of computer emergency response team (CERT-In),
Ministry of Communications and IT. Bajaj has been the Deputy Controller of
Certifying Authorities, where he was responsible for establishing techno-legal
framework for public key infrastructure. He has also served as Deputy Director
General, National Informatics Center (NIC).
