NetCore launches spam and virus filtering service

NetCore Solutions has launched Emergic CleanMail, an e-mail traffic filtering and monitoring service that protects
organizations from virus attacks, spams and wasted Internet bandwidth.

"All unwanted emails containing spam and virus are filtered on our Internet server before they reach the mail server and the intended recipients," says Kalpit Jain, Business Head, Messaging and Security,
NetCore.

Explaining Emergic CleanMail process, Kalpit says that any mail coming from outside will first come to NetCore servers, and will be scanned for virus and spams and then relayed to the customer's MX servers. The only change that is implemented is the shift in MX pointers. MX servers will continue to function in the same way as before. The company has all its servers providing this service at the VSNL data centers on a redundant architecture. Already 25 customers are using this service with up to 90% efficiency. The company hopes to get about 300 customers in one year's time.

The Emergic CleanMail service is available for Rs 1,000 per user per annum for up to 25 users. "However, appropriate discounts are given to organizations buying this service for more than 25 users," says
Kalpit.

According to NetCore, the services use technologies developed in-house with salient features such as triple-level virus scanning, multi-layered anti-spam capabilities, spam analysis engine with auto-updates and
auto-learning, personal whitelists and blacklists allow/block emails from specific IDs/domains, real-time blackhole Lists capture data from global spam servers to block spam, content filtering, and reports on email
trends, viruses detected, spam volumes and policy violations.
