Network Associates, now renamed McAfee, Inc, has reaffirmed its focus on the Indian business and will strengthen its offering in the security products and service space. In an exclusive chat with Channels India, NAI's Sales Director, Kartik Shahani mentions that the company's channel business will continue as usual and partners can expect to see the vendor getting
more aggressive in the days to come.
According to him, in the new structure, McAfee would be able to focus entirely on security front as its network-centric business would now be managed by another entity Network General.
"Also with virus attacks becoming more frequent and disastrous, we are expecting our business to grow very rapidly and our channel network will play the most crucial role in ensuring this," assures Kartik. He also confides that selling off Sniffer product line will not have a
significant impact on McAfee's Indian business. "Sniffer was anyways not contributing majorly to our revenues here so it will not have a significant impact over our business here," adds he. However, he maintains that the company would continue to support customers using
Sniffer.
Kartik also denied any change in company's channel network. "We have two leading national distys, four tier-1 partners and 60 active tier-2 partners. We will continue to work closely with them, rolling out many programs and initiatives for them," He also informed about the company getting aggressive on its security appliance business in the coming days. "The future of security business lies in appliances and we see a strong upswing in sales of our Web Shield
range of products," adds Kartik.
