Networking, Storage and Security take center-stage

The second series of the “Networking Storage Security” seminar organized by
DQ Channels in association with Linksys and NetMagic, kicked off with its first
event in Pune.

Despite the unexpected heavy rain on the same evening, the event saw good
participation from genuine and serious IT solution providers from the Pune
market. The event proceeded with officials from Linksys and NetMagic giving
industry presentation to channel partners, explaining how the products and
solutions will help them in building a robust IT infrastructure.

This was followed by a unique but informal discussion on the changing trends
in the IT solutions business. Anurag Krishna of Linksys and Karan Kirpalani of
NetMagic was joined by two Pune-based channel partners Rahul Chaudhary of
Concept IT and Rahul Meher of XI & Growing, for the discussion. A wealth of
information pertaining to recent trends in the industry became the highlight of
the interactive discussion, which included parti­cipation from the audience as
well.

Kolkata

The first ever Networking, Storage and Security (NSS) seminar hosted by DQ
Channels in association with Linksys and NetMagic in Kolkata received an overall
good response from solution providers across the city. The event was graced by
eminent personalities from the said fields who shared their personal experiences
and addressed issues related to the said topics.

Lagging behind till recently in comparison with other metros, Kolkata has
started to pace up its tryst with networking, storage and security. With
increasing economic and industrial developments the city has started to feel the
need of these three major areas of IT. The NSS Seminar served as a good medium
for the solution providers of these fields to get abreast with the latest trends
and techno­logies in this genre and come up with issues that require special
attention.

While giving his presen­tation, Anurag Krishna, Business Development
Manager, Linksys said, “Networking is a very interesting business option and
it's going to be more exciting in the forthcoming days.” Elaborating more on
the viability of the business opportunities attached with these fields, Karan
Kirpalani, Senior Manager-Marketing, NetMagic, said that partners across the
country are moving away from mere box pushing towards the service and solution
space, “This is a $4 billion business globally. And it is not at all feasible
to stay away from having a share in this large pie.”

The highlight of the entire event was the panel discussion, on 'Share,
Store and Secure', which acted as an open forum for both the panelists and the
audiences who actively participated in this session. The panelists included
experts from the industry like Anurag Krishna of Linksys, Karan Kirpalani of
NetMagic, Satish Choudhary of Techniche Consulting, Subhendu Dhar of Diamond
Infotech along with Zia Askari, Assistant Editor, DQ Channels.

Expressing their views at the panel discussion specialists discussed issues
like target segments, business opportunities apart from the technical issues
like, service, deployment of the right solutions based on customer requirement
and post deployment supports. The forum also took up the grave issue of support
required by solution providers from principal companies. With regard to that
Choudhary remarked, “Solution and technology-based training is very important
for the SPs. The principal companies should take every care to provide such
required trainings to the solution providers.”

The panelists also addressed questions from the audiences, from which the six
best questions were rewarded.
