New IT helpline service by VCMDWA

Mumbai: Before the commencement of COMPEX, the Vidarbha Computer and Media
Dealers' Welfare Association (VCMDWA) plans to launch an IT helpline for
Nagpur. According to Prashant Ugemuge, President of VCMDWA, “The helpline will
work from 10am to 6pm on all working days. Customers will have to just call in
and ask their IT related query. The customer service executive will receive
their call and will assist them. The customer executive will also guide the
customer on the best suited configurations for any product within his budget.”

VCMDWA is currently talking to some of the principals like Microsoft and
Intel to co-sponsor the IT helpline. “If Microsoft co-sponsors it, then it
will be named as VCMDWA-Microsoft IT helpline,” said Ugemuge. VCMDWA and the
co-sponsor will share the cost of the free service. The talks about the helpline
are in the pipeline and it is expected to be up and running before the January
11, 2008. Meanwhile Vinod Verma, co-coordinator COMPEX said, “Hundred per cent
of bookings for the exhibition are done. TCL along DSK Worldman will be the key
sponsors for COMPEX, which will be held between January 11th and 14th next year.”
