New partner programs, promotions from Symantec

New Delhi : Symantec announced a series of new programs and promotions
for its partners-The new Aspire Rebate Program, Symantec Real Deal Promotion
and Symantec University for Partners. These programs will offer partners special
training, tools and financial incentives to help partners capitalize on the
market opportunity for Symantec's security, data protection and availability
solutions.

"Because partners are vital to our success, we aim to educate and enable our
partners, so they may add greater value for our joint customers," said Ajay
Verma, Director--Channels and Alliances, Symantec. "Symantec is dedicated to
providing partners with increased opportunities for selling a broad portfolio of
market-leading security and availability products to their customers. The new
programs are designed to provide additional profitability for Symantec partners
and reward them for creating complete solutions," added Verma.

Following the positive feedback of the first phase of the Aspire Rebate
Program, Symantec has introduced new enhancements to the program. Available to
partners in India, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand, members will now
benefit from 10 percent rebates on all eligible product sales made over and
above their revenue target. The program runs from Dec 1, 2008 til May 31, 2009
and is targeted at registered members of Symantec Partner Program.

The Real Deal Promotion provides monetary rewards to partners who drive
incremental and new license sales for Symantec Backup Exec 12, Symantec Backup
Exec Agents and Options, Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 8.0, Symantec
Endpoint Protection 11.0 and Symantec Multi-tier Protection 11.0. The Real Deal
program runs from December 1, 2008 till March 31, 2009 and is open exclusively
to resellers who are a part of the Symantec Partner Program.

Symantec University for Partners provides resources to increase knowledge on
Symantec's broad range of products and solutions to reduce the sales cycle and
help partners more effectively build solutions for their customers. The program
is available to all members of the Symantec Partner Program.

Symantec's training includes product and role-based curriculum designed to
improve partners' knowledge of Symantec products, and their ability to sell,
service and support them, directly benefiting their customers. Partners will
also be able to collaborate in live peer-to-peer discussions with fellow sales
engineers, solutions architects and professional service consultants using the
Symantec Partner Technical Forum. Finally, access to Symantec technical tools
and documentation provide partners with the intelligence to help them more
effectively design and deploy Symantec solutions, provide customer support and
generally increase their value to customers with improved service offerings.

Partners will have access to live classroom training, hands-on labs,
on-demand eLearning and expert mentoring. Other resources available via Symantec
University for Partners include Symantec's enablement toolkit, a comprehensive
collection of product tools, materials and other resources available for
download. Also available is SymBrain, an interactive mapping tool to help
partners quickly and easily determine the best Symantec solution to address
their customers' IT needs, as well as identify cross-sell opportunities to
maximize the value of every deal.
