New ProCurve Switch 2610 series launched

ProCurve Networking has launched the ProCurve Switch 2610 Series of
enterprise edge switches to enable customers to manage and support applications
such as VoIP, Unified Communications, wireless access points and security camera
deployments.

The ProCurve Switch 2610 Series offers medium to large enterprises converged
network solutions that feature secure 10/100 connectivity, multicast traffic
control, QoS, and scalable IEEE 802.3af PoE (Power over Ethernet) options. It
also provides support for pre-standard legacy PoE equipment to enable wired and
wireless deployments of converged network applications.

The standards-based 2610 Series delivers security features that include
Access Control Lists (ACL), which allows network administrators to control both
inbound and outbound traffic. In addition, sFlow traffic sampling technology is
also included to enable improved traffic management and port monitoring for
network threats using the ProCurve Network Immunity Manager.

The 2610 Series comes in five different models of stackable 24 and 48 port
switches, with or without PoE and hybrid PoE combinations. The five models, all
with shallow form factor, include one fanless switch for open office deployments
and one hybrid switch for environments that do not require PoE on every port.
The switches offer optional redundant power supplies for high availability and
come with ProCurve's lifetime warranty
