Check Point appoints Krishnan V V as India MD and South Asia head

As enterprises across India move deeper into cloud, AI and digital transformation, cyber security is shifting from being a support function to becoming a business priority. Against this backdrop, Check Point appoints Krishnan V V as Managing Director and Country Head for India and South Asia, signalling the company’s focus on strengthening its presence in one of its most important growth markets.

Krishnan joins Check Point with more than three decades of industry experience and takes charge at a time when organisations are balancing rapid innovation with increasing security challenges. His appointment reflects how security vendors are adapting their leadership strategies to match changing customer needs around AI transformation, cloud adoption and cyber resilience.

India becomes central to Check Point’s growth plans

India already plays an important role in Check Point’s global operations, hosting the company’s largest R&D centre outside Israel. The centre contributes to product architecture, cyber defence innovation and AI-driven security capabilities.

In his new role, Krishnan will oversee business strategy, go-to-market execution and organisational development across India and South Asia. His focus areas include strengthening customer relationships, expanding the partner ecosystem and driving adoption of Check Point’s prevention-first security platform.

The move also underlines how India is becoming more than a sales market for global technology firms. It is increasingly emerging as a centre for innovation, talent and product development.

AI changes the security conversation

The timing of this leadership change is significant. Organisations are not only deploying AI but are also looking for ways to secure AI systems, applications and workforce usage.

Krishnan’s mandate spans Check Point’s four strategic areas: Hybrid Mesh Network Security, Workspace Security, Exposure Management and AI Security. The company aims to help enterprises use AI for threat detection, strengthen protection across complex environments and govern AI adoption responsibly.

His experience across companies including Palo Alto Networks, Seclore, Symantec, Oracle, Sun Microsystems and Wipro also brings a mix of enterprise, partner and government engagement expertise.
